| Alumni Spotlights |
While filming A Remarkable Place to Die on location in the basin in March 2026, Wakatipu alumna Victoria Boult visited her alma matter to discuss careers in the arts with currently enrolled students. She graciously agreed to let the Alumni Coordinator take a turn at filmmaking, sharing her favourite WHS memories, what it was like returning home to the basin to film the local drama A Remarkable Place to Die, and her inspiring hopes for the future for our school and the wider community.
"I think as a filmmaker, I am drawn to stories that push boundaries, that go outside the norm, that aren't just entertainment for entertainment's sake but actually really try to critique and challenge the world around us. And I think I was fundamentally given those skills in the drama room. And personally, I just think doing theatre at Wakatipu High School made me a better collaborator, a better team player, a better leader, a better friend. Fundamentally I think that so much of who I am started in that room."
